• Possible E-mail loss
  On August 25 - a bank holiday - there was a brief failure of e-mail in the afternoon. Messages may have been lost. Should you have e-mailed and not have received a response, then I kindly ask you to resend your message please or contact me by telephone. Thank you.
• Spam from SmarterScience? No way!
  Around June 20, SmarterScience started receiving huge amounts of spam-related messages. Some spammer is sending lots of mail pretending to originate from SmarterScience. Rest assured, SmarterScience is really not interested in selling you fake Rolex watches and would not dream of enhancing various parts of your bodies (I would not dare suggest that they can be improved; I think they are perfect the way nature made them).

  Sadly, this may mean that any mail genuinely sent by SmarterScience may end up in your spam box or not even reach you. I'll keep an eye on this.

• SmarterScience is launching a newsletter
  Its contents will mainly be earth, marine and environmental science, things I picked up at meetings and from journals, for instance. Interested? Sign up now and claim your award. If you decide you don't like it, you can unsubscribe at any time. Scout's honor!
• Blog up and running again
  However, I have not had time yet to revive any old posts.
• Site moved to new hoster; e-mail working
  Registrar was transfered at the end of last week. The site's hosting and mail followed in the night of March the 4th.
• ISP switch completed
  SmarterScience has successfully made the transfer to the new broadband connection.
• Book store
  Did you know that I also have a book store for you ?
• Weak dollar? No problem!
  SmarterScience has always accepted and still accepts payments in U.S. dollars from parties in dollar countries. SmarterScience often works with contracts that list a fixed project fee - which is always in U.S. dollars for parties in dollar countries - and will continue to do so.
• New domain launched!
  Take a look at Mrs. Sippi's site, aimed at the general public. It has its own RSS feed and contains pages on topics like the Mariana Trench and the Black Sea.
• Telephone calls
  As some of you know, various phone problems have hampered SmarterScience since its relocation to the U.K. I assure you that I am working toward a high-quality remedy for the situation.
• Anniversary
  On October 1 of this year, this business celebrated its tenth anniversary.
